Lori Winschel is a St. Louis native, who has shared her journey with multiple programs around the US. She has almost 30 years of experience as a performer, instructor, designer and entrepreneur in the world of the marching arts.
Lori holds a Bachelor's Degree from Missouri State University in music education. Her performance career started as a flute player, however she found her way to the wonderful world of visual music through colorguard.
Her performance career includes Pride of Missouri State Marching Band and Winter Guard 1998-2022, Glassmen Drum & Bugle Corps 2001 and Northeast Independent (NEi) World Winterguard 2006-2008.
Lori's instructional career began as a college student in 1999. She has taught a multitude of middle and high school programs all around the country. Lori had the opportunity to teach colorguard at the Blue Stars Drum & Bugle Corps in 2007 and oversee Spirit Drum & Bugle Corps colorguard as the caption head in 2008 & 2009. She then was a co-founder of Avidity Independent Winterguard in St. Louis, MO in 2011 and was the movement choreographer for Freedom Percussion 2015-2017.
Lori has spent the last decade exploring the world of adjudication and mastering the entrepreneurial side of the activity. She now helps groups procure marching band and colorguard uniforms and costumes, along with instrument rental, props, tarps, accessories and team spirit wear. She most recently founded Starting Line Design Co, a trendy marching arts boutique gift shop.
Lori currently resides in the St. Louis, MO area with her husband Ken and three children, Kenny, Aubri & Maggie.
Fruhauf Uniforms
Lori serves as the dedicated representative for Fruhauf Uniforms Inc. in Missouri. In this role, she acts as a second set of hands for clients, ensuring the uniform development process goes smoothly from design to delivery. Her responsibilities include understanding clients' needs, helping them choose the right uniform design, and facilitating the order and delivery process. With her experience in the marching arts and design, Lori brings a unique perspective and valuable expertise to her role at Fruhauf Uniforms.
